Do you want to choose the air purifier chosen by FEMA, the Department of Homeland Security, and to aid the victims of the September 11th terrorist attacks? Then choose Austin Air.
Austin Air specially designed and manufactured the Austin Guardian 1, an air purifier which protected citizens from accidental releases of deadly chemicals. The government faced a difficult and deadly task -- destroying lethal biological and chemical weapons near a populated area. They had to incinerate nerve agents like sarin, nearer to a populated area than ever before. In preparation, residents of Calhoun County were provided with an Austin Guardian 1, to protect them from any airborne threats during the destruction of the stockpiles.
Even when buildings or rooms are tightly sealed, contaminated outside air can still enter. To protect Calhoun County residents, they were provided with Shelter in Place kits. Thanks to the addition of the Guardian 1, the kits far surpassed government recommendations for building a Shelter in Place. The Austin Air Guardian 1 reduces and eliminates the hazard of dangerous vapors, and was the air purifier chosen to protect American citizens.
A report was commissioned by the United States Army, entitled 'Test Report for the System Effectiveness of Home/Commercial Portable Room Air Cleaners', dated April 27th, 2000. The purpose of the test was to determine how effective commercially available air cleaners are at removing simulated contaminant air vapor from a sealed room. Over 100 unites were studied. The Austin Healthmate HM400 reduced the vapor concentration by 90% in less than 35 minutes. In fact, the Austin HM400 was one of the most effective of the commercial filter units in reducing the vapor.
The Guardian 1 contains a unique filter design, combining military
carbon cloth and activated carbon. The military carbon cloth is the same
kind used in bio and chem suits. The only
home air purifier to contain this
innovative and powerful filter, the Guardian 1 adsorbs hundreds of
harmful gases and vapors and provides unparalleled protection.
In the aftermath following the September 11th attacks, Austin Air was
there to help.
When the Twin Towers fell, they released tons of airborne contaminants containing asbestos and other harmful and irritant particles. In the months afterwards, some asthma sufferers in Manhattan reported worsening asthma symptoms. Austin Air cleaners with High Efficiency Particle Arresting "HEPA" filters were distributed to remove the dust and harmful asbestos. The Austin Air cleaner removes 99.97% of harmful particles, including dust mites, mold spores, pet dander, allergens and even anthrax spores.
